Preserved in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, this remaining oil canvas measures approximately 196 × 309 cm. This artwork finely captures the sacred oath of the Batavian rebellion against Rome through an extraordinary, unmatched mastery of late-period impasto, expressive brushwork, and atmospheric light.
