# 낡은 방앗간 - The Old Mill

빈센트 반 고흐(Vincent van Gogh)가 남프랑스 아를(Arles)에 머물던 1888년 9월에 완성한 대표적인 유화 풍경화입니다. 현재 미국 버팔로에 위치한 올브라이트 녹스 미술관(Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo AKG Art Museum)에 소장되어 있으며, 작품의 실제 크기는 약 64.8 × 54.0 cm입니다. 캔버스 위에 유채로 제작된 이 작품은 남프랑스의 눈부신 지중해 햇살 아래 서 있는 오래된 석조 방앗간을 고흐 특유의 굵고 리드미컬한 임파스토(Impasto) 기법으로 조각하듯 담아냈습니다.

The Old Mill

Painted by Vincent van Gogh in September 1888 during his prolific period in Arles, France, this monumental landscape resides in the permanent collection of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum (formerly Albright-Knox Art Gallery) in Buffalo, New York. Executed in oil on canvas measuring approximately 64.8 × 54.0 cm, the work portrays an ancient stone mill basking under the luminous Mediterranean sun through Van Gogh’s signature tactile and sculptural impasto technique.
