Painted around 1628–1630 in Cento by the preeminent Italian Baroque master Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, universally celebrated as Guercino (1591–1666), *Mars* (also titled *Mars with a Sword*, Italian: *Marte*) is an oil on canvas measuring 127.0 cm × 88.0 cm (50.0 in × 34.6 in), preserved in the permanent collection of the Bankfield Museum in Halifax, United Kingdom.
